How every figure is sourced, dated, and computed
BestRobotMower.co exists to be trusted. Every price, status, and score on this site traces to a named public record, carries a confidence tier, and is stamped with when we retrieved it. This page is the full account of how that works, so you never have to take a number on faith.
What a confidence dot means
Every figure carries one of four tiers. The dot's color is the same on every surface, so a claim's KIND is always legible at a glance. Color is never used alone: a text label always accompanies it.
Direct from the manufacturer spec sheet or a tracked retailer listing.
Published by the manufacturer about its own product (an MSRP, for example).
From a reputable secondary source (an independent review).
Derived by BestRobotMower.co from the underlying specs; shown with a leading ~.
Editorial as-of vs live retrieval
A comparison site fails the moment it presents a stale figure as current. We keep two clocks and never let one stand in for the other.
The curated, code-owned catalog (model and accessory identity, specs, the source registry, this copy) is dated as of Aug 13, 2026. It changes only when the code is edited, and it is never shown next to a live number.
Robot-mower prices move across Amazon, the brand stores, and big-box retailers. Where a brand store publishes a machine-readable product feed (Segway Navimow Store, Mammotion Store, Dreame Yard Care Store, Sunseeker Store, MOVA Store), we read its current price and stock every 3 days, and that is the price every page, pick and score uses. Every other price is curated with a source link and re-verified by hand on a cadence. Both dates are shown:
We do not pretend a feed refreshes itself: the badge shows when we last verified the figure, and a price we have not re-checked within its cadence is shown as due for a refresh rather than as confidently current. If a spec or price has changed, confirm it with the manufacturer or seller before buying.
How each figure is sourced
Three of these are read straight from an authoritative record (the price, whether it is on sale, and the manufacturer's own spec). The rankings and picks are the one thing we compute, and we show exactly how.
Street price
VerifiedThe street price is the current price from the retailer listings we track (Amazon, Best Buy, Home Depot), verified on a cadence. It is what you would actually pay today, not a manufacturer MSRP. Where a brand publishes its own MSRP, we show it separately and mark it as Stated, because it is published by the brand about its own product.

How the BestRobotMower Score is computed
A site named “Best…” owes a buyer a decisive number. Ours is a transparent 0-to-5 editorial score: a weighted average of five capability axes, each read from the same cited specs shown on every page. It is not a user poll and not an opinion. It is reproducible from the sourced figures, it recomputes when a spec or price changes, and only mowers you can buy today are rated.
- 25%
Navigation & mapping
The positioning class, from most to least capable: LiDAR that also sees obstacles, then LiDAR, RTK with camera vision, RTK, and a boundaryless camera. Structural, so it never depends on marketing wording.
- 20%
Obstacle avoidance
Whether the mower has a real AI-camera obstacle system, read from our cited obstacle-spec data rather than guessed from the navigation class (an RTK mower can have a camera; a LiDAR one can lack one).
- 20%
Coverage
Rated maximum lawn area against the largest mower we track, compressed so an estate machine cannot win on size alone and a right-sized small mower is not unfairly crushed.
- 15%
The source registry
Every fact on the site names one of these sources. A Primary mark means the source is a manufacturer's own spec sheet: the authoritative driver behind each model's specs.
Manufacturer spec sheets
Coverage area, slope rating, navigation type, cutting width and height, and features for the Navimow line.
Segway
Coverage area, slope rating, all-wheel-drive, navigation, and cutting specs for the Luba and Yuka lines.
Neutrality, and the caveats we never hide
BestRobotMower.co ranks by the underlying data (price and specs), and a partner never changes a price or a spec. Partner status is one bounded, disclosed signal in how results are ordered: all else equal it can lift a partner above a comparable option, but never above a clearly cheaper one, and every partner is labeled. We show a figure only when we have a real source for it; when we do not, we show an honest gap, never an invented number.
Authorship and expertise
Every spec on BestRobotMower.co is drawn from the manufacturer's own published spec sheet and, where available, independent hands-on testing, and links back to the source. We publish what the sources state, cite where it came from, and stamp when we retrieved it.
